Costumes

The girls got all dressed up at the end of October.  I had not put any thought into costumes until October was almost over.  And I wasn't getting any great ideas.  Until I saw a cute little Dorothy costume at the amazing children's consignment shop we have downtown. *cough*Laura*cough* And it was just Elaina's size.  I was already thinking Chloë would probably prefer to do something frilly and girly, so a Glenda-the-Good-Witch costume was perfect.  My friend Betsy loaned us a perfect pink princess dress.

I made Chloë a crown.

Elaina's hair was long enough to put into two little pig tails.
We also borrowed the perfect little ruby slippers from Betsy.  I know Todo isn't quite right, but Elaina loved hauling around her basket as long as the stuffed animal was in it.

I covered a cheap star wand with silver glitter paint.
My pretty babies.

Off to the Harvest Festival we went.  There were lots of fun costumes, and games, and candy.

And we even got a picture with Amara, who was dressed up as the Wicked Witch of the West.

The girls had such a great time.  We are still eating the candy.

I just have to show you how I made Chloë's fabulous Glenda crown.  It took sooo long.  I actually had a hard time finding good pictures online of what the crown was really supposed to look like.  I made a prototype out of paper, and then bought silver card stock and silver glitter paint, pulled out my press-on rhinestones, and got to work.
After something like four hours total, I was done!  It was a fun project.  And Chloë loved it.
