Two Months Old
Norah will be two months old tomorrow, and I tell you what, it sure has gone fast. I've been snapping pictures here and there, mostly with my phone. I don't want her first months of life slip by without some documentation, but the extremely thorough posts I used to write are quite time consuming. I love sitting down and writing about every sweet detail of my baby's existence, but I am learning that it is quite difficult to sit down for more than a couple of minutes at a time.
So here are some sweet pictures of Norah from August.
These best first few pictures are from when she was just about a month old. It's amazing how quickly babies change at this age.
She stared intentionally smiling, and goodness I think it's adorable.
Her big sisters absolutely adore her. Chloë's booster seat is next to Norah's car seat, and any time we're in the car, she asks if she may hold Norah's hand. Both Chloë and Elaina frequently ask to hold her, and are constantly touching or kissing or stroking her.
I'm guessing she's average height and weight. She eats well, sleeps well (we love the five hour chunk of sleep at night!), and recently waited nine days between poopy diapers. Let's just say her Papa needed a full wardrobe change. She usually has a pretty laid back personality, and is just so sweet and snuggly. We sure do love our little Norah girl.

Norah and Papa
My dad, at the awesome age of 59, and Norah, almost two months old.
I sure do love these two. Now I need to get some good pictures of Mimi and Norah.

First Bath
Norah finally got her first bath last weekend. At the ripe old age of seven weeks old.
Yes, really, it was her first bath. I wanted to wait a while to see how her skin adjusted without any interference. She had slightly less peeling that her sisters, and a lot less baby acne. I was impressed. I think the moral of the story is vernix is good, and even mild soaps can be overly drying for baby skin.

Chloë's First Day of School
Chloë went to her very first day of school today. I wasn't sure what my emotions would throw at me, but somehow I managed to stay cool and calm, and didn't even wish for waterproof mascara.
I laid everything out last night, just to make sure we had everything we needed. Good thing, too, because I had to sew a button on the dress.
Then this morning we were all ready to go!
She wasn't very excited about pictures. She just wanted to go to school.
A few days ago, we attended a classroom orientation, and she got really nervous and even shed a few tears. She wasn't sure if she wanted to go to school if it meant I didn't get to be there with her. We talked a lot about how we trusted her wonderful teacher Mrs. Rust, how she was going to make so many new friends, and how many amazing new things she was going to learn.
Our conversations must have been encouraging, because she really was excited.
We decided we all wanted to be there to see her off on her first big day. So we all piled into her classroom for just a minute, and I snapped a couple of quick pictures.
I went home, got a few things done, and then took Elaina (and Norah) out to Starbucks for a special little date. Then it was time to pick up Chloë. She was grinning from ear to ear. On the ride home (and pretty much every moment since then) she was telling me all about her wonderful morning. She actually got a little choked up when I explained that she wouldn't get to go back until the day after tomorrow.
I'm so excited that Chloë has such a wonderful opportunity. I think we're off to a good start.

Sisters
For the last month now, I've been wanting to take pictures of my three girls all together. Funny how it just kept not happening. Like a thousand other things in life right now. But this morning, the girls were all awake and cheerful at the same time. So I threw a white blanket and pillow on the floor in the living room, and snapped a few pictures.
I love how much of their personalities comes out in all of these.
I love the black and white, too. I think this one is going to go on the wall at some point.
I also got a couple of sweet pictures a few weeks ago when Norah was seven days old. She's changing so fast!
And last but not least, the two great videos. I love how much my big girls love their baby sister.

Faces
I took a bunch of pictures of my sweet Norah's faces way back when she was two days old. True to Blakey form, she's quite the character already.
This girl really likes to pose for the camera.
She's so great.
